The Cux 87 "Krabbenkutter" {part 16}

                                                     Bottom Hull Paint - The Mask

      After a few days past, it was time to finish the hull paint.  one more aspect needed to be added to the hull, and that was the mask on the bow.  I started this session with putting the front glass in the pilot house.  the front and the molding I had cemented on around the structure was painted with lacquer.

      It has quite a nice shine, considering that I used a semi-gloss.  it was time for the final paint for the hull, and after masking it up.......down it went again!  I used a gloss for this.....originally, I was going to use a flat, but this is the upper hull and I had made the definition of the surfaces with the gloss / flat combination.  again, I have a little touching up to do, but it came out very well.

      Not doing a fitting would have left this session incomplete.  it really defines the bow.  once all the touch ups are done, I can finally move on.  there won't be a need for fittings, because anything put on the deck from then on.........will be permanent!
